One Infographic to Understand the Factors Affecting Filter Flow Rate and Capacity

2025-04-28 51 views

In pharmaceutical manufacturing, membrane filters play an indispensable and versatile role. Filters with different performance characteristics can meet various application requirements, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the pharmaceutical process.

Specifically, buffers used in purification stages are typically non-fouling solutions; therefore, filters with higher flow rates are generally recommended. Conversely, solutions containing easily fouling particles, such as culture media, usually require filters with higher capacity.

In this issue of Alidep’s “Insights from the Core” knowledge series, we summarize the factors affecting filtration performance in a single infographic for your reference and learning!
